Saginaw Choral Society (SCS) takes great pride in actively participating in various community events and festivals, fostering a strong connection with our local community. Over the years, we have been honored to lend our voices to Saginaw's P.R.I.D.E. event and the beloved Holiday in the Heart of the City celebration, spreading joy and harmony throughout our city.
Recently, we've expanded our horizons by becoming an official member of Beer Choir, a delightful community sing-along experience. We've had the pleasure of hosting several Beer Choir events around Saginaw, bringing people together through the universal language of music.
But the spirit of community involvement doesn't stop there. Our Saginaw Youth Choir (SYC) leaders created Root Beer Choir, a family-friendly, sing-along that is held at the Saginaw Zoo.
Saginaw Choral Society (SCS) and Saginaw Youth Choir (SYC) joined forces to create Pans in the Park, a unique steel drum collaborative. This initiative offers workshops for youth aged 9-15, teaching them the fundamentals of playing steel drums and other fun instruments. The program culminates in a free concert at Borchard Park, showcasing the musical talents of our budding musicians.
Our boutique concert series has forged partnerships with local museums, including the Saginaw Art Museum, the Castle Museum, and Saginaw Valley State University's Marshall Fredericks Sculpture Museum. These collaborations have allowed us to infuse our performances with cultural richness and artistic flair, captivating audiences with the beauty of music and art combined.
The Choral Society has also collaborated with esteemed partners such as the Saginaw Bay Symphony Orchestra and Saginaw Valley State University's Concert Choirs, creating unforgettable concert experiences. Saginaw Choral Society, is committed to building and uniting our community through music
